Ernest, Edwin clash in Legends Homecoming 2
EZULWINI - The off-season will be short-lived for top coaches Ernest Mavuso and Edwin Matsebula.
This is more so because the duo has another assignment in their parental communities.
They will be involved in the second edition of the Mhlume FC, Simunye FC Legends Homecoming match on June 17 at Nsukuwansuku Stadium.
This is in about three weeks’ time in Mhlume, where the first edition was successfully hosted under the sponsorship of Siphambanweni Milling, who was the main sponsor.
The milling has once again been confirmed as the event’s main sponsor but others have shown interest too.
Last time, Mavuso who is the country’s champion coach this season after his team Green Mamba won the league, which finished about a fortnight ago, lost and by then, Matsebula was the elite league winning coach with Royal Leopard but finished fifth this season.

day of legends football for the Lubombo community as we all know how the game produced stars through the two sugar mills, Mhlume and Simunye’s support before it came to an end,” Eswatini Social Football Coordinator Nathi Dlamini affirmed the return of the event that had the tiny stadium become a hive of activity last June.
Revenge
He went on to say the country’s elite coaches in Mavuso and Matsebula were going to be part of the two legends’ teams once again, with the former having to get revenge after they were drubbed last year.
“Just like the first edition, the day’s activities will start as early as 9am, with various soccer games including new event sponsors Instacash, combined departments of Mhlume, Simunye, Good Shepherd Catholic
Hospital and Media XI, among others.
The main match is at 3pm,” Dlamini said.
He said the main event attracted former stars like Bongi ‘Dumbai’ Dlamini, Bheki ‘Control’ Thwala, Khayelihle ‘Karas’ Dlamini, Dingani Maduma, Sipho ‘City’ Sibandze, Menzi ‘Flying Ghost’ Sibiya, Timothy Mathonsi, Coach Milton Dlamini, Mugabe ‘Giggs’ Makama, Clyde Coglin, Norman Chambers and Sidumo Shongwe, among others. As a guest player, Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina, also played the legends game last year. Some of these legends were born and bred in the Lubombo Region, while others ended up growing there due to football.
