Cut sleeping hours - King

-

MALKERNS - His Majesty King Mswati III has called upon emaSwati to consider limiting sleeping hours. The King, however, said the adage that goes as ‘kungahlwa kwenile’ should be discourage at the highest order.

The King said that it was high time that emaSwati started considering going shopping at night without fear of any hostilities.

“In the First World countries abroad, you find shops, supermarkets open at night and if it could be considered in Eswatini, the economy could be positively stimulated,” the King said.

The King said this when he handed over three investments, African Alliance Group, Nthoese Development Group and EMI Gates Holdings from AUE. These companies yesterday disclosed that they have already committed in investing billions of Emalangeni to the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Pleasing

Thereafter, the King said currently, there were about 10 Pick n Pay Supermarkets, 11 liquor stores and two Pick n Pay clothing stores around the country. He said it was pleasing to know that Pick n Pay was serving about 30 000 customers a day in all their shops around the country and they were grateful for this support from emaSwati.

Further, the King pointed out that as the country was working towards the First World Status, African Alliance had revolutionised the shopping industry by being the first store to operate a 24/7 supermarket in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

“We hope other businesses in the country will emulate this good development.

leisure

“We encourage the nation to take advantage of this opportunity to shop at their leisure when there is less traffic and congestion. African Alliance Group in total has employed 2 269 employees and have spread it wings to acquire KFC,” the King said.

On top of that, he said since the company wants to invest in the country, they took a decision to invest in the fast-food sector and they have acquired the KFC business and built many shops throughout the kingdom.

On the other hand, African Alliance presented the King with a belated birthday gift – a cake which was designed and baked at Pick n Pay, Matsapha.

The presentation of the cake was made by African Alliance Partner S’thofeni Ginindza, just after the King had officially opened Malkerns Square. Thereafter, a birthday song was sung by the entire entourage wishing him a happy 55th birthday.
