MBABANE – Seven Dreams beat Milling Hot Spurs 3-1 to cement their pole position on the log standings in an MTN National First Division (NFD) match played here yesterday.

It was former now defunct Mbabane Citizens attacking midfielder Samkeliso ‘Fela’ Dlamini, who proved unstopped as he grabbed a second half brace. There was nothing to write home about in the first 30 minutes of the match as both sides created half chances at goal.

It was the visitors, who nearly broke the deadlock seven minutes after the hour-mark, when Mfundo Magagula’s long drive outside the box nearly caught Seven Dreams goalkeeper, Sandile ‘Onyango’ Dlamini napping.

This move woke the hosts, as from that moment they engaged another gear in search of the opener, which never came until the referee rested the teams, as the score at halftime was 0-0.

The log leaders eventually broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half, exciting winger Lindo ‘Mlindi’ Zwane delivered a telling cross from the right flank, which was timely nodded home by ‘Fela’.

He was back again 10 minutes later to add the second, this time he was found by a searching ball unleashed by former Mbabane Swallows crafty midfielder Richard McCreesh, to easily tap and extend the lead.

BENEFITTED

Milling Hot Spurs waited until the 77th minute to reduce the deficit, when Mfundo Magagula benefitted from a re-bound to channel the ball into the back of the net from a forest of legs.

Their joy was short-lived as Dlamini grabbed his hat-trick three minutes later. The result saw the Sidwashini-based side cementing the pole spot with 34 points, which adding to Hot Spurs relegation woes. The Manzini-based side are sitting perilously on the standing with nine points to show in 15 games.
