- BY NOMBUSO DLAMINI

MBABANE - The Clerk to Parliament, Benedict Xaba, says that the performers for the highly anticipated 12th Parliament opening ceremony will remain a closely guarded secret until the day of the event.

This was during the final rehearsal which was held yesterday.

With anticipation reaching fever pitch, the stage is set for a surprise spectacle that promises to captivate and inspire many during the official opening which will be held tomor row.

Traditionally, the opening ceremony of a new parliamentary session is a momentous occasion, marked by grandeur and symbolism.

It sets the tone for the legislative agenda ahead and showcases the rich cultural heritage of the nation.

It is a prestigious event that is also graced by Their Majesties, with a

Speech from the Throne being one on the anticipated items on the pro gramme.

The decision to withhold the names of the performers came after the King’s Chief Protocol Officer, Khan dlela Mdluli, enTuired about the programme including performers, highlighting how the need to know was necessary as the need to help the performers with conduct, especially comedians, if there were any in the programme.

Experience

“We wanted to create an unfor gettable experience for both par liamentarians and the public, but it is important to know that the key people there, are the analysts,” ;aba explained. “Parliament is a different procedure and the second part of the session can be classified as bonding time. Keeping the performers under wraps until the day of the ceremony, will also generate a sense of wonder and anticipation that will make this opening truly special,” he further elaborated.

In previous years, due to the per formers that would be invited to this session, the nation would be abuzz with rumours and theories, guessing who might grace the stage during this momentous event.

From renowned musicians to cele brated dancers, the possibilities seem endless, fuelling anticipation and gen erating a palpable buzz in the air.

Previously per formers who have graced the stage at the Parliament Opening are Nothan do Hlophe, Symphony and Bholoja just to name a few.
