Locals performers thrill Their Majesties

- Dudu Dube

LOBAMBA – Dumako Brothers thrilled Their Majesties during the dinner held at the Official Opening of the 12th parliament.

The Dumako Brothers are a group of young men who sing Maskandi music. They were the only artists that were requested to come back on stage.

Their energetic moves filled the arena as they sang songs by Soul Brothers, which is a South African Mbaqanga music group from KwaZulu-Natal formed in 1975 by Moses Ngwenya and the late David Masondo.

The lead singer’s performance and smooth dance moves reminded the audience of the legendary David Masondo. The audience was seen singing along and some could not hold back their dance moves as they screamed ‘wololo’.

cheering

Cheering and whistles filled the room. Another set that made the audience cheer was by award-winning Gospel musician Gcina Masuku. He took them back to church while they were enjoying their three-course mouth-watering meal. The traditional dance by the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force was another highlight of the afternoon.

From Lutsango to Imbali dancing. Lacwebetelako were joined by Their Majesties as they also danced. The marquee was decorated with fresh flowers with a touch of white and gold. The ambience gave a garden experience with the different shades of fresh flowers and shiny chandeliers.

The lighting from the chandeliers was also highlighted by a tree with clear lights. The setting was intimate as the marquee was filled with round tables and white chairs. The Official Opening of the 12th Parliament ended on a high note as delegates and other important guest wined and dined with their majesties.

One of the different drinks served was buganu which was placed on all the tables and was seen enjoyed by many. Other entertainers included iYa, who also set the mood with her RnB set and the first act was Londiwe Dlamini, who ushered the audience into the presence of the Lord.
