Owed businessman killed in ‘bizzare’ car accident

-

MAYIWANE – The Timphisini businessman said to be owed E180 000 in a bottle store deal, caused a stir when he allegedly ‘forcefully occupied’ the house owned by the Mayiwane businesswoman for months.

This was before the businessman was killed in an accident said to have happened in Manzini some time last year. Interesting to note is that the late businessman’s belongings, including a car, are still locked in the premises of the businesswoman’s homestead at an area called Ndlalambi. This was confirmed by one of the businessman’s eldest sons, who however, asked not to be mentioned as this was a sensitive issue. “My father was killed in a bizarre fashion in Manzini because he was smashed against the door of his car by an oncoming truck and died on the spot. We were all shattered at the manner in which our father died,” he said.

Decision

Asked why they have not collected his belongings including the car that is still parked at the businesswoman’s homestead, he said this was a family decision.

“We are aware that my father was owed some money by the businesswoman from Buhleni and he had difficulties getting a refund. It is also true that he stayed in the woman’s house before his death because he was hoping she would show up as that is her house. Unfortunately, this did not happen until my father died in the car accident,” he said. He added that his father’s belongings including the car that is still parked at the woman’s home, would be collected when the time is right.

“My father had a reason to stay in that house and we cannot interfere with that until advised otherwise. We are hoping the owner of the house will approach us to settle this matter so that we can take the car and his belongings in the house,” he said.

However, information gathered is that the house in question has become a playground for breakins while the premises currently resemble a grazing field with overgrown grass occupying a better part of the area.
