MBABANE – Meluleki Sikhondze’s metamorpho­sis would not have materialis­ed without his consistenc­y.

In this interview, the 27-yearold explains the pivotal role immutabili­ty played in his muscle-building journey.

He asserts that without consistenc­y, nothing substantia­l can be achieved, emphasisin­g that merely starting is insufficie­nt without maintainin­g steadfastn­ess. Enjoy as he takes you through his transforma­tion journey.

When did you start training and what was the motivation behind it?

“I started training in 2022 to build muscles, self-confidence and discipline.”

What was your weight then compared to now?

“I weighed 64kg now I am at 78kg.”

What sort of lifestyle contribute­d to your weight gain?

“Eating good, eating a lot, food with a lot of protein, fats, and carbs contribute­d to my weight gain.”

“My focus is food, rich in protein

What challenges do you normally encounter in keeping up with your new lifestyle, and how do you handle them?

“With the workouts I don’t have any challenges, but the problem is the kitchen. Not every time will you get all the nutrients the body needs to build muscles.”

How has your life improved so far, and how do you impact the people, especially women, in your circle or community?

“The consistenc­y in the gym has instilled discipline and patience in me. It has trained my mind; nothing can beat a strong mind. If you need something, you can achieve it no matter how hard or how long it takes.”

What are your weight and fitness goals within a specific time frame? How difficult or easy will it be to achieve those goals?

“My main aim is by 2025 to have gained a little bit from my current weight so I can improve my muscles too. And it won’t be hard because I have a good mentor in Coach Thabiso Msibi.”

What advice can you share with other people who face weight challenges, but lack the courage to start exercising and make it a lifestyle?

“My advice to other people is to start slow, be patient, be discipline­d and be consistent. It doesn’t happen overnight.”

What is your motivation­al slogan?

“I hated every minute of training, but I said, don’t quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion’ - Muhammad Ali.”
