Fashion enthusiast surfing own wave

THIS weekend we are breaking ground alongside Gcinisizwe Phatokuhle Buthelezi, popularly known as Nurse WeKhantri.

He describes himself as a person who loves people and making friends in general. He is also generous and love giving.

One of the key things that he values is respect and according to him, respect is reciprocated, you give one to get one. During the meet and greet with Gcwala, he was asked to clear the air pertaining to if he is an influencer or a fashion model.

He shared that he is not an influencer but only a fashion enthusiast.

“Well I don’t really think I’m an influencer to be honest, I just happen to have good following, otherwise I wouldn’t categorise myself as one. “The one thing I know for sure is that I am a fashion enthusiast. At times I question my career choice but I’m calmed by the fact that I’m also outstanding in it, but to be honest fashion is all I can think off.

“I was raised in a family where image matters, my mother would always make sure she doesn’t look like our impoverished background and so I learnt a thing or two. “Fashion defines me; thinking about it stimulates all my senses. “Dress well and the rest will fall into place. I don’t think I’m the only person killing it in fashion to be honest. I would be very delusional if I had that mentality.

“Well as a person, I think I get influence from various fashion entities and modify it to incorporate me.

“So I cannot call the shots, the world can be the one saying I’m a trendsetter, but well it is what it is,” he said.

He went on to reveal the individual that inspires his fashion sense, citing that he was taken by her creativity.
