Those who dream about ruling Eswatini must forget - Lutsango

- BY SIBUSISO SHANGE

MBABANE - Lutsango regiment says those who dream about ruling Eswatini must forget it because they will never succeed.

The regiment of women reduced their sentiments into songs, which they sang during a special dance known as kutsamba during the first leg of this year’s Buganu Festival held at Buhleni Royal Residence over the weekend.

It is common cause that regiments, be it of women, girls or men use songs to warn, commend, criticise and appreciate certain things. The aim of the songs is to help an individual or the institution to do better.

The regiment said anyone causing confusion concerning the governance of the country should step aside and allow His Majesty King Mswati III to rule. The women shared that the King was ordained in Heaven to rule the country.

Fight

They also encouraged the King not to worry about those who disturbed peace, as the Heavens were watching them. They stated that there was no need for the King to fight any war with anyone because the Heavens would fight for him.

“Myekeleni abuse Okandaba, mvumeleni aliphatse lelive. Lalabacitsa live lakho asebeme kancane ngoba angeke balunge. Lemphi ayisiyo yakho ngoba emazulu ayibukile Mbangazitha,” went the lyrics of the song.

The regiment also commended the country’s efforts in development.

They made an example of infrastructure development, in particular roads, free primary education, as well as the elderly grant, stating that the past Kings such as King Bhunu, King Mbandzeni would be shocked if they were to come back to life.

Some members of Lutsango opted for non-political but popular songs while the royalty went for Gospel songs during kutsamba. Among the songs sung at the event were ‘umusa ongaka omangalisayo, bengingubani mina wangenzela umusongaka. Uzume nami Simakadze.’
