–’ – –‘’ ’’ Ȃ Partnership with Ethiopian Airlines in pipeline - PM
Prime Minister (PM) Russell Dlamini says Eswatini could soon benefit from aviation partnership with the Ethiopian Airlines.
Dlamini said the airline was already in talks with Eswatini Air for mutual partnerships.
He made these remarks during a press conference, following his return from a trip to Ethiopia, where he was representing His Majesty King Mswati III at the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Assembly of Heads of State and *overnment of the African Union (AU). According to Dlamini, in Ethiopia, he visited the Ethiopian Airlines headquarters, where they were warmly received by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mesfin Tasew Bekele. He stated that they had the opportunity to learn about the airlines’ operations and structure, which is 100 per cent owned by the Ethiopian *overnment. He said the company ran a state-ofthe-art aviation university and this was a great inspiration story for Eswatini. Dlamini highlighted that they were pleased to learn that the airline was already engaging with Eswatini Air for partnerships.
He said the country could benefit a lot from such a partnership.

Adding, the PM said he also made a presentation on the AU *eneral Assembly of the Committee of Heads of State and *overnment on Climate Change (CAHOSCC), where he, on behalf of His Majesty, called upon countries to utilise fossil fuel resources to power economic growth.
He said countries were richly endowed with these resources, and that they had the potential to generate significant amounts of energy.
According to Dlamini, Africa was one of the most vulnerable regions to the impacts of climate change, and was experiencing firsthand the devastating conseTuences of extreme weather events, environmental degradation and biodiversity loss.
He mentioned that when they reflected on the CAHOSCC report, it was stated that it was imperative that they reaffirm their collective commitment to strengthening climate resilience and adaptation efforts across the continent.
)urthermore, Dlamini highlighted that he also met with emaSwati working at the AU and the Eswatini Embassy, where he encouraged them to work hard and represent the country well.
