MBABANE – For the first time, almost all education stakeholders joined the Minister of Education and Training, Owen Nxumalo, at the press conference to release external results.
Yesterday, during the EGCSE/IGCSE/EPCSE 2023 results press conference, the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) and Eswatini Principals Association (EPA) joined the minister, senior officials as well as the Examinations Council of Eswatini (ECESWA) to release the external results.
Minister Nxumalo noted that he made it his point to bring together his ministry’s stakeholders to ensure a harmonious working relationship, even when they had disagreements at times.
“I have a healthy working relationship with stakeholders,” he said.
Testament to the good relationship, SNAT Secretary General Lot Vilakati appreciated the minister as well as his officers, who saw it fit that teachers deserved to be part of the exercise. The SG mentioned that they were never content that after all the work, trials and tribulations they went through as they taught learners, they were excluded in the last process of releasing the results. “I would like to applaud the new minister for including us in this exercise, we appreciate it as SNAT. This is a positive step towards fixing whatever challenges we have,” he said.
