MBABANE – A man whose brother was allegedly killed by soldiers while travelling with his wife, has told the commission that his life is in danger.

Shadrach Mhlongo of Holneck in Nhlangano appeared before the commission yesterday. He said he had been to the Swatini Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA), Women and the Law, NATIC, former Prime Minister (PM), Absalom Themba Dlamini and others, for assistance but got none.

He said he was received by Percy Simelane, who was at the time the Government Spokesperson, and he told him that the PM was out of the country. He alleged that Simelane told him that, after the PM was back in the country, he 620( 2) 7+( 352%(¶6 7$6.6

In this matter, Japhter Mhlongo died in 2004. Shadrach was the executor. He said his brother had been attacked and threatened by people who thought he had misappropriated estate funds due to his brother’s child, who was born out of wedlock. According to Shadrach, his brother was a manager at Metro Cash and Carry and he also worked in Mpumalanga.

Fired

He said soldiers fired at his brother’s car eight times and his wife survived the attack.

He alleged that his sister-in-law did not want that the matter to be taken to court, so that the truth would come out, as to why his brother was killed. Shadrach complained that his brothers daughter did not benefit from

Japhter’s estate. He alleged his sister-in-law collected money that he, as the executor, was supposed to deposit into the estate account. He further alleged that his life policy was collected by Japhter’s wife, as well as terminal benefits from his place of employment. He told the commission that he wanted his brother’s death to be investigated.

“My life is in danger because of this file. The child is not getting any assistance,” Shadrach alleged.

Judge Majahenkhaba Dlamini said the commission was not aware of how far the investigation went after Japhter died. The judge said it was important for the truth to come out and that others would be called to appear before the commission.
