SITEKI – Another businessman who runs a business around the Mzilikazi in the outskirts of Siteki town also decried the manner in which they were visited by a team of men and women at their homes.
7he purpose of the visit was to inform them that they were sup posed to pay E for the busi ness. 7he businessman also asked that his identity be concealed in fear of being victimised and sum moned by the chiefdom¶s inner council. +e shared his dissatisfac tion, mentioning that the money was being demanded without any considering that their businesses were operating on a loss.
³, have asked members of bandlancane to convene a meet ing, where residents operating businesses can voice out their concerns on this matter. :e want to pour out our hearts, because we don¶t know why we are be ing charged twice, yet we paid a cow for the allocated land for business,´ said the businessman.
A resident of 0aphatsindvuku also raised his concern that he was also informed by the chiefdom that he was supposed to pay a cow for being allocated land by the other faction.
7his, he said was because during the chieftaincy dispute, some res idents were allocated land by the other faction before the blessing of the new chief by the King.
³, am still shocked and trau matised on the ne[t step to take, because , was allocated land by the other faction without knowing if it is legitimate. , believe that the chief will resolve this matter amicably, so that we find a lasting solution to our concerns,´ said the resident.
