SITEKI – Another businessma­n who runs a business around the Mzilikazi in the outskirts of Siteki town also decried the manner in which they were visited by a team of men and women at their homes.

7he purpose of the visit was to inform them that they were sup posed to pay E for the busi ness. 7he businessma­n also asked that his identity be concealed in fear of being victimised and sum moned by the chiefdom¶s inner council. +e shared his dissatisfa­c tion, mentioning that the money was being demanded without any considerin­g that their businesses were operating on a loss.

³, have asked members of bandlancan­e to convene a meet ing, where residents operating businesses can voice out their concerns on this matter. :e want to pour out our hearts, because we don¶t know why we are be ing charged twice, yet we paid a cow for the allocated land for business,´ said the businessma­n.

A resident of 0aphatsind­vuku also raised his concern that he was also informed by the chiefdom that he was supposed to pay a cow for being allocated land by the other faction.

7his, he said was because during the chieftainc­y dispute, some res idents were allocated land by the other faction before the blessing of the new chief by the King.

³, am still shocked and trau matised on the ne[t step to take, because , was allocated land by the other faction without knowing if it is legitimate. , believe that the chief will resolve this matter amicably, so that we find a lasting solution to our concerns,´ said the resident.

KaLanga Umphakatsi Indvuna &easer 0avuso, acknowledg­ed the concerns from the business people and residents and further encouraged them to attend the upcoming business indaba called by the chief. 0avuso said all the concerns and grievances must be raised during this forthcomin­g forum, so that they could also be addressed by the concerned parties. 7he indvuna said bandlancan­e will announce the date of the forum soon. ³, would like to urge people of KaLanga from all walks of life to come and attend the business indaba and raise their concerns during that forum. , am made to believe that their grievances will be tackled during that meeting,´ he said.

0eanwhile, last month, the chief announced that he will host a busi ness indaba for people of KaLan ga. +e said he was optimistic that the forum would open doors for small and medium entreprene­urs within the communitie­s under his chiefdom. 7he chief made the an nouncement during a prayer and thanksgivi­ng event in e[tending his words of appreciati­on to res idents and businesspe­ople under his chiefdom who contribute­d with about cattle that were slaughtere­d for members of the water party maidens during the reed dance, ,ncwala &eremony and warriors
