Futi’s donates soccer equipment at Sigangeni Primary
SIGANGENI – Blessed is the hand that gives than the one that takes. This biblical adage sounds true to Futi’s Chicken Cottage, which has donated soccer equipment to Sigangeni Anglican Primary School yesterday. The company donated the equipment at its capacity of being one of the sponsors of the Atibuye Emasisweni Soccer Foundation, which was launched early this year at the SibaneSami Hotel in Ezulwini.
The event was graced by the foundation’s Chairperson Josiah ‘Digger’ Dlamini, the school’s Head teacher Michael Simelane, teachers, coaches and pupils as well as community members. Presenting the equipment was Futis’ owner Vusi Dlamini, who said they partnered with Atibuye Emasisweni Foundation as they liked the idea of developing the sport at grassroots level.
“We are projecting that in the next 10 years with these pupils the country will be competing at the highest level continentally,” Dlamini said.
He urged teachers, community members, as well as the elders of Sigangeni to support the children by purchasing the basic needs such as soccer boots to attain the desired goals for the country’s football. Meanwhile, the head teacher thanked the foundation and Futi’s for choosing Sigangeni Anglican Primary School among the other schools in the community.
“This is a good initiative as it targeting the lower grades pupils and this would bear the desired fruits in the not so distant future,” Simelane said.
He also said the initiative would not benefit the school only, but it would go a long way towards helping the community and the country at large, as the pupils would now focus on the sport and desist from illicit activities.
