Court stops mum’s funeral after
MBABANE – The High Court has stopped a funeral at Lobamba Lomdzala, after one of the sons of the deceased drew a pistol and ordered his brother out of their mother’s house.
LucNy Mndzebele tooN the matter to court after MalNerns police officers allegedly failed to assist him. ,n court, LucNy wanted his brother, Mduduzi Mndzebele, to be stopped from denying him the right to bury their late mother, Busisiwe Macwele, at her homestead at 3humelele, under Lobamba Lomdzala Constituency.

He also applied for an order directing Mduduzi to allow him permanent use of their late mother’s house. Judge 6abelo MasuNu issued an order stopping the fu neral, which was scheduled for yesterday, pending finalisation of the matter.
LucNy informed the court that he and Mduduzi were the surviving children of Macwele, who died on )ebruary , , at The LuNe Commission Hospital. He alleged that for the past years, Mduduzi never set foot at their homestead since he stayed at his home at 1gculwini in the
Manzini 5egion.
According to LucNy, he, together with TsandwayinNosi Mdzebele and 1camile 1xumalo, went to the Lobamba Lomdzala Umphakatsi to report the passing of their mother, as per the practice under (swatini Law and Custom.

He said they reported to Mbiya )aNudze, who is the Indvuna of Lobamba Lomdzala Umphakatsi under Chief MloboNazana )aNudze. LucNy told the court that )aNudze welcomed their report and blessed that the family should go ahead and bury the deceased.
He stated that the headman conceded that the deceased was a well Nnown wife of the late .halalempi Mndzebele. He submitted that the headman further advised him to alert the royal Nraal of the date of the burial of their mother, for a representative of the umphakatsi to be sent to mourn and attend the funeral.
However, on )ebruary , , LucNy alleged, his elder brother, Mduduzi, who was in possession of a firearm, ordered him to leave the house of their mother, where he had lived with her since he was born.
