I am getting verbal insults – soldier nurse

-

LAMGABHI ETIYENI – The soldier nurse who falsely paid maintenance for a child that was not his, is claiming to be receiving verbal insults from the mother of the child.

He told the Eswatini News that ever since the story involving him and the three other men, who were ordered to take a DNA test to determine the paternity of the child.

The story was exclusively revealed by this publication last weekend, he has allegedly been receiving endless messages from the mother of the child.

“She is accusing me of being a liar and is also saying a lot of unpalatable words towards me.

Remorse

“I was hoping that when the story broke out, she was going to show some bit of remorse but instead, she still wants to appear the victim in this issue,” the soldier nurse said.

Asked if he will heed to the suggestion by CANGO and SWAGAA to avail himself and the child for counselling, the soldier nurse said he was not yet decided on that.

“If anything, I think the person who needs counselling here more than anybody is the child’s mother.

“She is the cause of all this yet she is still refusing to take responsibility of her actions.”

Adding

The soldier nurse stated that the woman’s actions were adding weight to his call for Parliament to review the gender-based violation (GBV) legislation to ensure that it does not appear to favour women more than the men.

“I am sure nobody would have blamed me for inflicting violence on the woman after discovering that she has been lying to me all the time, about me being the father of the child.

“It is for that reason that I feel the law on domestic violence should be such that it includes the factors that lead to such acts in various households because you will find that it is protecting people who should, in fact, be facing the long arm of the law.”
