LOS ANGELS - Jamie Foxx was on top of his game Sunday in Los Angeles, as he was honoured by the African American Film Critics Association with the Producers Award.
Foxx, 56, was honoured for his company Foxxhole Productions at a luncheon held at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
The Terrell, Texas-born entertainer was clad in an all-black ensemble of a Dolce & Gabbana sport coat over a T-shirt with slacks and black shoes at the event in Southern California.
The Oscar-winning actor donned eyeglasses and sported a goatee at the gathering.
Honoured
The resurgent star, who is father to daughters, Corinne Foxx and Annalise Bishop, from previous relationships, was honoured nearly a year after he was hospitalised, leading to a months-long battle back to health.
The ‘Collateral’ star was the centre of attention as he delivered his speech as he was honoured at the event.
Foxx was pictured at the event posing actress Nia Long (53), among others.
Corinne said in an April 12, 2023 statement on Instagram that the A-lister had been taken to a hospital after dealing with a ‘medical complication.’
Corinne said the following month that her father was on the road to recovery.
‘‘My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,’’ she said. ‘In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!’
The multi-talented entertainer had been working in Georgia on the Netflix film ‘Back in Action’ last year when he ran into his health complications.
After Foxx ceased working on the film, which also features Cameron Diaz, following his health battle last spring, he was seen on the set again earlier this year.
In the wake of a tumultuous timeframe in dealing with his health scare, Foxx recently teased a return to standup comedy.
‘Going to get on somebody’s stage somewhere near you,’ Foxx said last week in an Instagram post. ‘I got some jokes and a story to tell.’
