Ka-Schiele excel in athletics
MBABANE – They were simply untouchable!
This is the story of the Athletics Eswatini (AE) Communications Officer Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini-inspired KaSchiele High School, who were crowned champions of the Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA), Mbabane Branch athletics competition. The event which was held at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground was graced by five high schools from this branch, the likes of the champions, Londunduma, Woodlands, Elangeni and Nsukumbili.
The champions accumulated 420 points from the field and track events they participated in and they led the second best Londuduma High School by 56 points. Londunduma amassed 364 points.
Thanked
Mbabane Branch’s Secretary General (SG) Nonduduzo Ndzinisa in a post-event interview thanked all the schools and teachers as well as pupils for making this year’s event a success. She, however, hoped that more schools would join in the competition.
“We urge head teachers to allow their schools to participate in sports as it helps to release the mind of the pupil and taking the academic stress from them as they mingle and socialise with their counterparts from other schools. Sports also help the pupils to create a good relationship with their teachers,” Ndzinisa said. She further revealed that the inter-branch competition would be held on March 22, 2024 at
Dvokolwako High School Sports Ground.
“We, Pigg’s Peak and Madlangampisi branches will compete to form the Hhohho Region team that will compete with the other three regions,” she added.
