MBABANE - Buhle ‘Nkhaba’ Msibi has joined Hhohho Super League side, Young Lovers.

Msibi’s move to the Maphalaleni based side comes at a critical time as the side is in pursuit of promotion to the National First Division (NFD). Lovers are contenders in the two stream league, where their recent triumph was a 6-2 over Sitseni Young Chiefs at Prince of Wales Sports Ground on Sunday. Msibi’s exceptional performance in the middle of the park opened up channels for scoring opportunities, which his team took full advantage of as he also added to their scoring tally by securing a brace for himself.

Msibi is currently sharing the field with a former Manzini Wanderers teammate, Sandile ‘SD’ Dlamini, who has been playing a very important role behind the strikers, as a playmaker for Lovers. It is worth noting that after their 4-0 loss in the Regional Ingwenyama Cup at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in Nhlangano against now finalists of the main tournament, Green Mamba, getting positive results has been a challenge until two match days ago, where they returned to winning ways. Lovers also outsourced the services of former Mbabane Swallows left back, Sifiso ‘Pilot’Vilakati, where he plays as either a full back or a left winger.

Meanwhile, the star studded squad currently hold the fourth place on the Sunny Hhohho Regional Super League Southern Stream standings with 29 points tallied after 16 games. They have won half the number of games they have played, while they have drawn five and lost three with a goal difference of 14. They are one of three teams in the Southern Stream to have tallied 30 goals or more in 16 encounters, tallying 31 goals.

MBABANE – Six’s and more.

The Eswatini Cricket Association (ECA) is set to host the Lesotho national men’s team in a Bilateral T20 international tournament known as the ECA ‘2 African Kingdoms’ Men’s T20 Bilateral T20I.

ECA Secretary General (SG) Mandla Dlamini mentioned that the international matches would be taking place at the Malkerns Country Club oval, where he stated that this tournament was set to be a momentous occasion for cricket enthusiasts and supporters of both nations. The Lesotho team is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, March 27, marking the beginning of an action-packed series of events.

“We shall be hosting the Lesotho national men’s team in a Bilateral T20 International tournament. Proceedings have been sanctioned by the ICC, hence all the results will count towards the ICC global rankings. The matches will all be played at the Malkerns Country Club Oval,” Dlamini said.

Furthermore, he said the visiting team will use March 28 as a day of rest and practice, allowing the teams to acclimatise to the conditions and fine-tune their strategies. He said the excitement will peak on Friday, and Saturday, as both days will feature two T20I matches.

The cricketing extravaganza will culminate with a final match on March 31, bringing the total number of T20I matches to five. As the sun sets on this tournament, an awards presentation and closing ceremony after the final in the afternoon will provide the perfect platform to celebrate the outstanding performances and achievements of the players and teams.
