‘MEA CULPA’
Mea Culpa is a 2024 American legal thriller film written and directed by Tyler Perry. The film stars Kelly Rowland as a criminal defense attorney, who takes the case of an artist (played by Trevante Rhodes), who is accused of murdering his girlfriend. The film was released by Netflix on February 23, 2024. Chicago-based Mea Harper and her husband Kal are seeing a marital counselor for infidelity and his extremely overbearing mother Azalia. At a restaurant to celebrate the matriarch’s birthday, the older woman tirelessly undercuts her.
Mea’s brother-in-law, assistant district attorney Ray Hawthorne, loudly declares he must unload paintings his wife Charlise got from charismatic artist Zyair Malloy as he is set to prosecute him for murdering his girlfriend Hydie.
‘DOG GONE’
Dog Gone is a 2023 American biographical drama film directed by Stephen Herek. It was released by Netflix on January 13, 2023. Fielding is a socially awkward college kid, who decides to adopt a puppy after being rejected by a girl. He finds a yellow lab puppy at the local pound and adopts him. He names the dog Gonker and they are inseparable for the rest of his college career. The dog often runs with him to class on campus without a leash. When college is done, all of Fielding’s friends have jobs, but Fielding does not know what he wants to do with his life, which worries his father, John. Fielding moves in with his parents with Gonker. A few weeks later, Gonker is diagnosed with Addison’s disease and needs a life-saving shot every month for the rest of his life.
‘DUNE: PART TWO’
Dune: Part Two is a 2024 American epic science fiction film directed and produced by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. Princess Irulan Corrino secretly records in her journal that Paul Atreides may still be alive, while her father, Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV, is dispirited after plotting the fall of House Atreides. On Arrakis, Stilgar’s Fremen troops, including Paul and Lady Jessica, overcome a Harkonnen patrol. When Jessica and Paul reach Sietch Tabr, some Fremen suspect they are spies, while Stilgar and others see signs of the prophecy that a mother and son from the “Outer World” will bring prosperity to Arrakis
‘THE FALL GUY’
The Fall Guy is a 2024 American action comedy film directed by David Leitch and written by Drew Pearce. Loosely based on the the 1980s TV series about stunt performers, the film stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt Colt Seavers, a battered and past-his-prime action choreographer, finds himself working on a film set with Tom Ryder, a famous actor for whom he had doubled long ago. When Tom goes missing and the film, which is being directed by Jody Moreno, Colt’s ex-girlfriend in her directing debut, is in danger of being shut down, Colt volunteers to find Tom and save Jody’s debut film.
