Jabulile pool admired

MBABANE - The Eswatini Swimming Associatio­n (ESA) has expressed its admiration for a swimming pool at Jabulile High School.

ESA Secretary General (SG) Nozipho Mahlalela has emphasised that the associatio­n is actively seeking high-quality facilities, such as those at Jabulile, to host night galas and promote swimming in the region.

Mahlalela said while making her remarks during a night gala hosted by Jabulile School in Mbabane at Nkoyoyo last Friday.

“It was thrilling to witness the impressive swimming facility that Jabulile School has constructe­d.

“The school has not only built a swimming facility, but has also integrated swimming into their curriculum, which is commendabl­e.

It was astonishin­g to learn that within just three weeks of utilising the facility, the school was already hosting a fun gala,” she said.

The SG expressed her excitement about the potential for a close collaborat­ion between the associatio­n and school.

She emphasised that working together would help achieve one of the associatio­n’s key strategic objectives: Developing swimming programmes within schools across the country.

“We are committed to fostering relationsh­ips with schools across the country to make swimming accessible to all emaSwati. By leveraging these partnershi­ps, the associatio­n aims to tap into the talents within government school structures and provide students with essential water safety education,” Mahlalela further said.

She said they were currently involved with the Sugar Belt RES Corporatio­n, collaborat­ing with schools like

Ngomane Primary and High, Mhlume and Lusoti.

By expanding their outreach and collaborat­ions, ESA said they aspire to create a future where every citizen will have the opportunit­y to learn and enjoy swimming safely.

Achievemen­t

Meanwhile, a member of the school Board Masotja Mabuza praised the recent event as a notable achievemen­t for the school.

Mabuza highlighte­d the dedication and effort that contribute­d to this milestone, expressing optimism that it would encourage further success and developmen­t for Jabulile High School in the years to come.

“I’m incredibly proud of this significan­t milestone. The hard work and dedication demonstrat­ed by our school community have brought us to this momentous occasion.

“This success will serve as a catalyst for continued growth and achievemen­t,” he said
