28 hired for pegging Siphofaneni-Sithobela Road
SIPHOFANENI – At least 28 people of Siphofaneni and Sithobela constituencies have been hired for the pegging of the Siphofaneni-Sithobela Road.

Inkhundla, Siphofaneni Member of Parliament (MP) 1omalungelo /a =wide Simelane convened a meeting, where the hired 20 individuals under his constituency were presented by the
bucopho from the different chiefdoms.
The other eight were hired under Sithobela Inkhundla.
2n Saturday, MP Simelane met the hired residents at the construction site of the road project, where she briefed them on what was expected of them.
*overnment, through the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, has set aside (50 million for relocating homes situated close to the 28km road from Siphofaneni to Sithobela.
Youth
Siphofaneni Indvuna Yenkhundla Phiwokwakhe 1gcamphalala said the project would change the lives of peo ple of Siphofaneni through creating job opportunities for the youth.
$ccording to the MP, she was en gaged by the company tasked with the pegging exercise to facilitate the hiring of three people per chiefdom.
The wife of former Siphofaneni MP, Mduduzi µ*awuzela¶ Simelane, told the hired residents that she involved bucopho to select three people at their respective chiefdoms and ensure that they used a criteria that would not backfire on them.
The chiefdoms comprise of .aMkh weli, Madlenya, 1gevini, 1ceka, Tam buti, Mphumakudze and Maphilingo.
The legislator said she was grateful that the 20 from her constituency were the first beneficiaries of the road pro ject, with more job opportunities still to come ahead of the commencement of the construction process.
Simelane stated that she had been told that the hired individuals would work for a short period of time and be re engaged when the construction commenced.
She mentioned that the residents would also conduct a counting sur vey on vehicles moving to and fro Sithobela and Siphofaneni to ascertain the figures and frequency of traffic that was essential in the project.
“I am so happy that finally, the peo ple of Siphofaneni are starting to benefit from the road project. The 20 people will work for a short period and be considered when the construction of the road commences,” she said.
In the same breath the indvuna yenkhundla thanked the 1ational 'is aster Management $gency (1'M$) for the distribution of 244 bags of 50kg rice donated by the (mbassy of China (Taiwan) to benefit over 1 464 children in their respective nutrition care points across communities under the constituency.
+e further thanked )TM *arments for also donating knitting material that will be distributed to women and men in the sewing business.
1gcamphalala further urged compa nies and organisations to donate beans to be cooked together with the rice, so that the children were fed nutritious meals.
“I am so grateful that 1'M$ has brought the bags of rice to be distrib uted to the different care points. We hope other companies and organisa tion will emulate the example set by the embassy and extend their hands to the vulnerable children living in our communities through donating food,” he said.
Grateful
Sithobela MP Manqoba Sihlongo nyane said he was grateful that eight were employed under his inkhundla for the road project.
Sihlongonyane stated that more job opportunities would be created as the project progressed.
The MP thanked government for approving the budget towards the construction of the road.
+e mentioned that his constituency had lagged behind in terms of develop ment due to the bad state of the road.
The legislator said he was optimistic that the project would create more development initiatives and lure in vestors to set up businesses at his constituency.
“The project has come with better benefits for the people of Sithobela on the basis that there would be jobs and that the tarring of the road will see more businesses being established,” he said.
