UEDF beat Bobsters in SBS Netball League
MANZINI – The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) ladies secured a resounding victory over the Manzini Bobsters with a significant scoreline of 7213 at the Zakhele Netball Court on Saturday.
The UEDF emerged victorious after leading with the highest points in all four quarters of the game, leaving their opponents trailing with no hope of closing the gap.
The UEDF’s male and female netball teams demonstrated their superiority on the court, winning all the games they played over the weekend at the Zakhele Netball Court.
The UEDF males triumphed over Ball Busters with a score of 38-28. Meanwhile, the UEDF females also excelled in another game against Mankayane Ladies, securing a 8228 victory.
Height
Their height and experience worked to their advantage, enabling them to defend goals from their opponents and create scoring opportunities by passing the ball easily to one another.
UEDF females Captain Nqondile Mabuza attributed their success to training and hard work.
“Training is where we dedicate our time. We performed very well over the weekend, winning all the games we played.
“We still need to work even harder as we have tough rivals like the Correctional Services ladies and the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) ladies. During our training, everyone is committed physically and through ball work,” Mabuza said.
She further mentioned that they sometimes train with the Correctional male team to improve their strength.
“We sometimes train with our brothers from the Correctional male team to enhance our strength, and training outdoors in harsh weather conditions has made us stronger than ever,” she added.
Mabuza disclosed that their current target is to elevate their performance and achieve better results, aiming to reach at least the second position.
