PLE partners with Oukitel
MBABANE – Good news for elite teams!
The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has entered into a partnership with Oukitel, a new company that deals with digital gadgets such as smartphones. The partnership was officially launched by PLE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kenneth Makhanya at Sigwaca House yesterday. The launch was also graced by the presence of Oukitel Business Analyst Zanzi Nxumalo, Marketing Executive Felicity Dlamini, PLE Executive Member Victor Rodrigues and teams’ representatives.
Rodrigues, in his remarks before he requested Makhanya to make his remarks, revealed that Oukitel was working hand in hand with their main sponsor MTN Eswatini and they felt that it was good to engage the PLE in their drive to market their products.
“Oukitel requested to work with the PLE as they wanted to share with all the teams not just partnering with one club, but the CEO will unpack everything,” Rodrigues said. The PLE CEO said they were happy to announce the partnership between the organisation and Oukitel, which would go a long way in benefitting elite league clubs financially.
“The partnership with Oukitel starts as of today (yesterday) and would run until the end of the 2024/25 season,” Makhanya said.
He then revealed that from each sale, the team would benefit E200 with him taking 20 per cent, from that transaction.
“If the supporter buys a E2 500 phone, E200 will go to his team, while I take 20 per cent as my commission. We are really happy about this partnership as it will benefit all the teams,” he said.
Meanwhile, Oukitel’s Nxumalo said they were happy that the partnership would benefit all the parties involved.
“This is an opportunity for all of us and we are hoping to work well with the clubs,” Nxumalo said.
On the other hand, the teams were encouraged to request their supporters to purchase the phones to easily capture the information and to know exactly what was due to them.
