LOBAMBA - The Ingwenyama Cup finals will be broadcast live on both Eswatini Television and South Africa’s pay-perview channel, SuperSport.

This announcement was made by Eswatini Television Authority (ESTVA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mlamuli Dlamini during a press conference held at Nkhanini King’s Office yesterday.

“We will broadcast live the Ingwenyama Cup from start to finish. We want to do this for those who may not be able to reach the venue. It will be broadcast live on Eswatini TV and SuperSport. We want to showcase this big event to the world and the beauty of the kingdom, which mixes culture and sports,” Dlamini said much to the excitement of those in attendance.

Regarding the monetary details of this partnership, the CEO mentioned that this was a partnership between them and the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF), which will see Eswatini TV owning the rights to the event and providing a feeder to SuperSport. He also mentioned that SuperSport was part of this partnership.

The announcement comes after the Ingwenyama Cup Chairman Prince Hlangabeza announced that the prestigious event will be held on April 7 at Somhlolo National Stadium.

“Our duty is to make sure we fill the Somhlolo National Stadium. We heard that people from outside the country will come to watch this event and this is good for the country,” the prince said.

He emphasised the importance of the event, stating; “If the money is not added, then the committee could have not done a good job. We want to thank you for your cooperation from the start to this end.”
