ESRIC increases ENDA league sponsorship to E150k
MBABANE – Eswatini National Darts Association (ENDA) is set to receive a lifeline. Latest reports suggest that Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) is set to increase its sponsorship package to E150 000 towards the ENDA 2024 season league. This is a difference of E30 000 from the previous season.
Champions
The 2023 season saw Correctional A ending two time champions, Malkerns A’s reign with a score of 13-10 at Elangeni High School Hall. Correctional A had last won the league in 2014. The league is set to commence in April.
ENDA Public Relations Officer (PRO) Flag Nxumalo confirmed the figures. Nxumalo further expressed gratitude to the sponsor for once again funding their league.
“Yes, it is true we are playing for the stated amount this year ESRIC always makes sure they pay heed our pleas. We are grateful with how our partnership has been bearing fruits of success,” he added.
It is worth noting that ENDA
is expecting to see who will prevail in the on-going President’s Cup. The tournament was sponsored an amount of E10 000 by Theo Brands. The quarter-finals stage will be witnessed next Saturday, where players are set to compete in singles and doubles category. The tournament had over 70 participants when it commenced.
Knocked
It was earlier revealed that most of the top players have been knocked out, with oldest player Friday Mncina among some popular names remaining in singles category. It remains a mystery as to who will dethrone the champion, Malkerns A’s Ernest Tsabedze, as he has not been available to defend his title. Meanwhile, the winner of the singles category will walk away with E1 500, while the doubles winners are set to pocket E1 600 as confirmed by Nxumalo.
