Tony Zeeman, collapses, dies at 58
EZULWINI – Zeemans Motors Director, Tony Zeeman collapsed and died at his home yesterday morning. The Zeeman family is in shock and devastated by the businessman’s sudden passing.
He was the last Zeeman in the transport business, which he ran with his late father and uncles, who are also deceased. He is survived by his six children.
Of note, about 10 months ago, the businessman was robbed and stabbed multiple times and has been recovering from his injuries since.
His passing was confirmed by his older sister, Pearl Kahn (nee Zeeman) who said as a family they were shocked by his sudden death.
While narrating the manner in which the late businessman died, his sister said he collapsed in his house yesterday morning at around 7am while on his way to take his medication.
She said the late businessman had low blood sugar.
She said at the time of his passing, the late businessman was with his girlfriend at his home at Mvutjini. His sister narrated that the late businessman’s girlfriend informed them that he was fine when he woke up.
She said while on his way to take his medication, she heard a banging sound and when she rushed to see what was happening, she found the late businessman lying on the floor motionless.
MOTIONLESS
She stated that the late businessman was constantly on medication and had not fully recovered from the incident where he was robbed and stabbed multiple times all over the body.
Kahn said they tried to call an ambulance to no avail and ended up taking him by car and rushed him to Mbabane Government Hospital where he was certified dead.
The late businessman was taken to B3 Funeral Services in Mbabane.
She stated that they tried everything they could to save his life on their way to hospital, but they were aware that they were fighting a losing battle.
“This is confusing and painful because all Zeeman men die like this, Tony died exactly like our father did as he also collapsed and died. That is life though and there is nothing we can do,” she said.
She further relayed that their mother was bedridden and they were afraid to break the news to her due to fear that she would pass on as well.
Adding, Kahn said they were still debating where to hold the meeting as a family to make funeral arrangements, as they feared that if they held the meeting at the late businessman’s home where his mother was she would suspect something was amiss and her condition would
worsen.
She said the late businessman will be laid to rest at the =eeman’s private cemetery at his parental home in Ezulwini and the date for the funeral would be decided during the family meeting.
