The Passion of the Christ played at Worship Centre

- BY SITHEMBILE HLATSHWAYO

MBABANE – To keep memories fresh on what happened on the cross, The Passion of the Christ movie was replayed for the Christians at the Worship Centre church in Mbabane.

This was before the believers partook in the Holy Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper.

According to Apostle Justice Dlamini, the aim was to connect their hearts, souls and keep their memories fresh on what happened about 2 000 years ago.

Through the Holy Communion, the apostle said Christians were connecting their hearts to the suffering. He stated that the bread represented Christ’s body, which was shredded and wounded in order for Christians to be made holy and be brought back to God.

Pain

The apostle said; “It was on Good Friday that Jesus experienced pain for men to live their lives.”

Dlamini said the day was orchestrated by Jehovah’s God, adding that everything that was not right in God’s people shall be corrected.

Dlamini said Jesus’ suffering was not in vain and that there were four major benefits of Good Friday, the first being deliverance from sin and its bondage. The apostle stated that sin became the biggest calamity that befell humanity. This, he said was despite that in the beginning God had blessed the human species and created them in His image and likeness. However, he said through the first family of Adam and Eve, sin was committed as the first humans violated the law of God. “Through their sin, all of humanity was plunged to perpetual suffering.”

He said when sin came into the earth, suffering begun and it was through Jesus that it was corrected. Dlamini said what sin took from humanity is the presence of God. However, he said over 2 000 years ago, in Palestine, Israel, Jesus the Lamb of God came to pay the price for the deliverance of all humanity from sin.

He said when Jesus offered himself on the cross, which happened on a Friday, He took the place of sin and guilt to lay it upon Himself. By so doing, Christ guaranteed the forgiveness of all men.

The apostle said the church of today was incapacitated and was a shame, adding that Christians were always looking for someone to pray for them. He said Christians were talking about Jesus whom they did not believe in, yet He came to make their lives better.

Dlamini said there needed to be a renewal of the mind among the church of God.

Apostle Justice stated that some people did not understand the meaning of Good Friday and why it was celebrated, adding that he had a great task of helping everyone to understand the day.

The apostle said some people went to church because it was a holiday, while others went to connect and meet with their friends. According to the apostle, others would go to church for food.

Dissecting the benefits of Good Friday, Dlamini said in Hosea 4:6; “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

He said connecting the above scripture with Proverbs 11:9 where Solomon wrote that “through knowledge the righteous shall be delivered”.

The apostle said knowledge could deliver someone from challenges and problems and troubles that one could be facing in life. “No human being was created by God to live a life of perpetual and endless suffering.”
