Over 400 Lugongolweni folk given rice
LUGONGOLWENI – Over 400 residents of Lugongolweni Inkhundla will benefit from 120 bags of 30kg rice donated by the Embassy of Taiwan.
Last Wednesday, the Embassy Minister, Ching-Lin Tsuei, handed over the consignment to Lugongolweni Member of Parliament (MP) Joseph Souza, who was in the company of Indvuna Yenkhundla Mfana Mamba.
In his brief address, the minister expressed his excitement that the people of Lugongolweni, especially the underprivileged and elderly will benefit from the donated rice. He also shared that the embassy had been making similar donations across the country.
The MP thanked the embassy and also expressed his excitements with the gift, mentioning that the people of Lugongolweni would receive the rationed and subdivided bags of 10kg of the rice, to ensure that as many people as possible benefitted. The legislator further thanked the Government of Eswatini for forging long term relationships with governments that have been fostering their relations with the country.

“I am so happy that some of the child-headed families and children under the care of elderly people will now have food to put on the table as most families have been hit hard by the drought, as a result of the climate change,” the legislator said.
The indvuna yenkhundla explained that 200 people of KaLanga Umphakatsi would benefit from the donation, while the same number will be reached out tributed to communities such as Mlindazwe, Makhewu and Sitsatsaweni.
Mamba also thanked the embassy for assisting government and emaSwati with food security.
