- BY NIMROD HLOPHE

MBABANE – With two days to go, TZD Sports has received another boost towards the success of the Lubombo Marathon, scheduled for this coming Sunday.

Earlier this week, Royal Eswatini Sugar (RES) Corporation injected E65 000, bought one water point, and registered a number of its athletes. TZD Sports Marketing and Communications Officer, Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini announced that another company partnered with them.

“We will be cruising once again with NTT Toyota’s cars. They have provided us with some vehicles to lead the different race categories.

The 42.2km, 21.1km and the 10km races shall each have a vehicle leading it, and in return, NTT Toyota has been afforded the privilege to display its car,” Dlamini said.

Pumped

He further highlighted that they also pumped in E10 000 that goes towards prize monies, as well as a purchasing a water point.

“We really appreciate the support we’re getting from the private sector. It goes a the costs of hosting the event, and we urge more companies to come on board,” Mavikane further said.

He also extended a token of

appreciation to RES Corporation and Tambankulu Estates for their support of this race.

Starting

The race will start and finish at the Siteki Sports Ground. Dlamini added that there would be buses that would take the 10km runners to their own different starting point.

Meanwhile, athletes have until Saturday to register, and those who have done so can collect their race numbers at the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC), Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA), as well as Siteki Hotel.
