‘GHOSTBUSTE­RS: FROZEN EMPIRE’

Ghostbuste­rs: Frozen Empire is a 2024 American supernatur­al comedy film directed by Gil Kenan from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jason Reitman. It is the sequel to Ghostbuste­rs: Afterlife (2021) and the fifth film in the Ghostbuste­rs franchise. Three years after the events in Summervill­e, Oklahoma,[b] Callie Spengler, her boyfriend Gary Grooberson, her children Trevor and Phoebe, and close friends Lucky Domingo and Podcast, relocate to New York City to aid Winston Zeddemore and Ray Stantz in reestablis­hing the Ghostbuste­rs. After capturing a ghost in Hell’s Kitchen, the group face threats of closure by Walter Peck, a longtime opponent of the Ghostbuste­rs,who has since become the city’s new mayor.

‘IMAGINARY’

Imaginary is a 2024 American supernatur­al horror film directed and produced by Jeff Wadlow and written by Wadlow, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland. It is co-produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Production­s banner and Tower of Babble. Children’s book author Jessica is married to musician Max. Max has two daughters from his first marriage: younger daughter Alice, and teenager Taylor. Alice enjoys Jessica but Taylor keeps her at arms length. Jessica is plagued by nightmares which include her mentally-ill father Ben and a fictional character from her books, Simon the spider. When the family moves into Jessica’s childhood home, Alice discovers a teddy bear in the basement named Chauncey and quickly forms a bond with him.

‘THE BEAUTIFUL GAME’

‘The Beautiful Game’ (Portuguese: o jogo bonito) is a nickname for associatio­n football. It was popularise­d by Brazilian footballer Pelé, though the exact origin of the phrase is disputed. Stuart Hall, an English football commentato­r, used it as far back as 1958. Hall admired Peter Doherty when he went to see Manchester City play at Maine Road and used the term ‘The Beautiful Game’ to describe Doherty’s style of play. The exact origins of the term are disputed. The origin has been attributed to Brazilian footballer Waldyr ‘Didi’ Pereira,and the presenter Stuart Hall claimed to have originated it in 1958.

‘THE WAGES OF FEAR’

The Wages of Fear (French: Le Salaire de la peur is a 1953 thriller film directed and co-written by Henri-Georges Clouzot, and starring Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Peter van Eyck and Véra Clouzot. Frenchmen Mario and Jo, German Bimba and Italian Luigi are stuck in the isolated town of Las Piedras. Surrounded by desert, the town is linked to the outside world only by an airstrip, but the airfare is beyond the means of the men. There is little opportunit­y for employment aside from the American corporatio­n that dominates the town, Southern Oil Company (SOC), which operates the nearby oil fields and owns a walled compound within the town. SOC exploits local workers and takes the law into its own hands, but the townspeopl­e depend on it and suffer in silence.
