I lost perfect partner – Rev Nyawo’s wife

Dr Sonene Nyawo, had recorded her speech and it was put on speaker for those in attendance to hear.
MATSAPHA – It was a sombre mood for Reverend Dr Nicholas Thandokuhle Nyawo’s wife during her husband’s memorial service yesterday.
While there were over 10 speakers who took to the podium as hundreds of people gathered in his honour, the surviving and loving wife, Dr Sonene Margaret LaManyatsi Nyawo, had recorded her speech and it was put on speaker for those in attendance to hear.
She said she was left with many memories of her dearly departed husband. This was during the memorial service of the reverend. He passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 80.

The memorial service was held at the Evangelical Church in Matsapha, which was a day characterised of reliving memories of the great things the reverend had done during his time.
It was also revealed that he wore many hats, as when he met his death he was the Tisuka TakaNgwane General Manager, while at his church, he was still preaching. Also his brothers from the Nyawo Royal House in Ngwavuma said he was the eldest son remaining where his council counted on him.
When his daughter, Nosenzosenkosi Nyawo, read his obituary, it showed a busy and fulfilling life that he had lived until he died.
His good deeds were attributed to the church being fully packed. Outside, there was a marquee for those who were not able to get seats inside the church. They were able to follow the proceedings on the big screen.

In all the speeches Reverend Nyawo was summarised as a man full of love, faith, leadership and service.
His wife, LaManyatsi, said she was happy for having experienced her husband’s love.
She said they brought their three children, Owenkosi, Nosenzosenkosi and Yenzokuhle together and that she was happy that they had grown up to be responsible adults.
“You know how much we loved you. We kept you happy in our 34 years of marriage,” she said.
LaManyatsi said her husband was her soulmate, partner in life and her co-pilot ‘in this journey of 34 years’.
“He was a confidant, my sounding board, my voice of reason. He was a loving father and loving husband, a friend. He was a rock and an anchor, a guide. His memory will never fade,” she said.
She also said that his legacy will live on through her.
LaManyatsi said she was grateful to Their Majesties, the Board of directors of Tisuka TakaNgwane, the Evangelical Church and the medical team that attended to him when he was in hospital and many others who offered support.
“You know how much we loved you. We kept you happy in our 34 years of marriage.”
