‘THE CREATOR ’
In 2055, an artificial intelligence (AI) detonates a nuclear warhead over Los Angeles, California. In response, most of the Western nations wage war against AI to prevent humanity’s extinction; they are being resisted by people of the so-called New Asia (consisting of East Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia) who continue to embrace AI. The military seeks to assassinate ‘Nirmata’,[a] the mysterious chief architect behind the AI advancements. The USS NOMAD (North American Orbital Mobile Aerospace Defense) is developed as an advanced space station capable of launching destructive attacks from orbit. US Army sergeant Joshua Taylor is an undercover operative with his pregnant wife Maya Fey, who the military believes to be the daughter of Nirmata.
‘TROLLS BAND TOGETHER ’
In a flashback, Branch was in a boy-band with his four older brothers (John Dory, Clay, Floyd and Spruce) dubbed ‘BroZone’. They broke apart after one of their gigs due to their clashing egos preventing them from reaching the ‘Perfect Family Harmony’, a powerful ability that trolls can make when they are in complete sync. Branch is left alone to be raised by his grandmother. In the present, about a month after the events of Trolls: World Tour, Branch and Poppy attend the wedding of their bergen friends, King Gristle Jr. and his girlfriend Bridget. Just before they are married, an older John Dory interrupted the wedding, who has come to find Branch to seek his assistance alongside their other brothers when Floyd has been captured by two teenage wannabe pop-stars.
‘FREELANCE’
Mason Pettits lives a miserable life - he enlisted into the US Army Special Forces, but lost his purpose in life after his friends were killed during a mission to assassinate Paldonian dictator Juan Venegas. After the incident, Mason was medically discharged due to his injuries ended up becoming a lawyer, a job that makes him hate himself, with a family of his own. One day, Mason is approached by his former comrade-in-arms, Sebastian Earle, who invites him for a one-time security job where he has to protect scrutinised journalist Claire Wellington as she goes to Paldonia to interview Venegas. The mission displeases his wife Jenny, who does not want their daughter Casey to live without a father.
‘THE MARSHKINGS DAUGHTER’
Psychological thriller film directed by Neil Burger and written by Elle Smith and Mark L. Smith, based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Karen Dionne. It stars Daisy Ridley, Ben Mendelsohn, Garrett Hedlund, Caren Pistorius, Brooklynn Prince and Gil Birmingham. The Marsh King’s Daughter was released in the United States on November 3, 2023, by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. Premise: Two years before Helena was born, the Marsh King abducted her mother, and she spent her childhood in captivity. Now convinced he will try to take her daughter; Helena sets out to outmaneuver the man who taught her everything she knows about surviving in the wilderness.
