Co-ordinating with the Ministry of Education to visit their adopted school on April 1

- LUSIANA TUIMAISALA

The Veiuto Primary School has collected over $ 1000 and other school materials for a school in the province of Ra, says head teacher Ravaele Mara. The 1081 students and 30 teachers had a Mufti-Day recently.

The school is co-ordinating with the Ministry of Education for a representation of students, teachers, parents and the board of Veiuto Primary to travel to their adopted school on Friday, April 1. Mr Mara said the purpose of this fundraising was to reach out to students who have been affected during Tropical Cyclone Winston.

“When they had the meeting, the teachers mooted the idea of adopting a school. “In the previous years the school has been also helping other primary schools that faced some sort of difficulties after some natural disasters, and this year after Cyclone

Winston the school decided to go ahead and adopt another school. “They have informed the Ministry of Education about this and the Ministry has chosen a school for them.” The school is making a last call to any parents, old scholars or friends who want to donate cash or school items to contact them.
