Miss World Fiji 2016 Finalists Visit Toberua Island Resort
Finalists in this year’s Miss World Fiji contest visited Toberua Island Resort on Friday as part of their tourism excursions. The contestants spent the day enjoying the hospitality on the resort including activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling. Toberua Island Resort general manager Max Macdonald said the resort was delighted to host the beauties and the staff were excited to meet the Miss World Fiji contestants. Mr Macdonald said: “My sister represented Fiji at the 1981 Miss Universe contest in New York (Lynn Macdonald) and I am familiar with the amount of work that goes into beauty contests. Toberua Island Resort is the perfect location for shoots with the beautiful and diverse natural environment.” Each year, the Miss World Fiji contest promotes unique tourism locations using the Miss World platform to the world. Since the unveiling of the top 10, the eyes of the world have been closely following the contest. “Through the unique Miss World Fiji effect, we hope to attract more attention to the various locations our finalists visit and with the exotic location of Toberua Island Resort, we will expose it to the pageant world using the Miss World social media platforms” said Miss World Fiji national director, Andhy Blake. Toberua Island Resort is a 30-minute boat ride from the Nakelo landing in Tailevu and is located in the Lomaiviti Group.
