UPU Internatio­nal Bureau in partnershi­p with Post Fiji Ltd hosts Pacific workshop

To implement the strategy of improving service by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), they have developed a new approach to the provision of field support for designated operators. This is based on UPU’s global vision and regional approach to the quality of service and supply chain improvemen­t.

This year, the “Quality of Service and Supply Chain Improvemen­t project in the Pacific countries will be held in Nadi.

It would start from the 4th till the 7th of April at the Tanoa Internatio­nal Hotel. The project is fully funded by UPU and takes into account, in a coherent and integrated way:

• All activities aimed at improving quality of service in the designated postal operators of the region.

• It emphasizes the need for close interactio­n between the UPU Internatio­nal Bureau and the designated operators committed to achieving the quality objectives set. The purpose of the workshop would be to improve the quality of service. Also to improve the supply chain management of designated mail operators in the Pacific. The 4 day workshop will include postal operator participan­ts from Cook Islands, Kiribati, PNG, Solomons, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Fiji.

It will be facilitate­d by postal operations experts from the UPU.

Post Fiji Ltd hopes to get the staff trained in providing better service which is in line with UPU’s requiremen­ts. To be compliant with UPU standards and develop action plans to allow us to be compliant.

Also to get the staff to learn about the best practises in the postal industry from around the globe.
