Top Indian corporate trainer and leadership coach Mayur Kalbag yesterday in Suva emphasised the importance of communicating. And of using best modern practice. Mr Kalbag said: “In today’s world we cannot use yesterday’s methods to be in tomorrow’s business. And hence even with respect to communication or presentation what is needed today for within the corporate world are effective and relevant techniques to achieve the different goals and targets.” Mr Kalbag was beginning his latest in a series of workshops to help build and develop leadership capacity at the Fiji Sun.

Staff from editorial, production, advertising, and circulation departments and the publisher’s office are taking part at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

Mr Kalbag is a lead training facilitator with the Confederation of Indian Industry and works with some of India’s top businesses.

Fiji Sun Managing Editor News Jyoti Pratibha said: “Mayur is an excellent facilitator. In our line of work, where work is deadline driven and crucial, often the form of communication can be challenging. Mayur is working with our teams individually and as a group to better manage the art of communication. “Mayur’s sessions with us have been very rewarding.”

Fiji Sun Managing Editor Production Maraia Vula said: “We know Indian business is now one of the big powers, a world leader. We can learn much from them. “Their major companies are now developing business around the world. But there is a lot of relevance here to what India is doing. “Mayur is outstanding. Like our other recent new media trainers from India.” Mr Kalbag is also an author. His weekly column on corporate advice appears in the Fiji Sun Business liftout on Saturdays.
