It’s About Fitness: Director

- LITIA TIKOMAILEPANONI

Fiji Rugby Women’s coaching director Chris Cracknell had to make some hard decisions in trying to lift the fitness standard of the Telecom Fijiana side. Speaking to from Nadi International Airport on Sunday night, he said, it was all about getting everybody above the minimum standard of fitness. “It’s been a tough two weeks,” Cracknell said.

“It was definitely the hardest decision I have had to make after taking on the programme. We had a little bit of a break with what happened with Cy- clone Winston so we asked the girls to go back to their villages and families and sort out everything that needed to be sorted. The team had about four weeks to prepare for the Atlanta 7s, spending the last two weeks at Pacific Harbour and the girls are now in good shape.” Cracknell said they were taking 14 players as there are a few players who won’t be selected for the Atlanta 7s this weekend since it is a back to back tournament. Fijiana 7s captain Ana Maria Roqica has called on supporters to pray for them.
