IF THE NSW CUP BID GOES THROUGH, THE FOLLOWING WOULD TAKE PLACE:
The immediate need to locate a camp and training site in Fiji The contracting of 30-local based players for the NSW Cup competition The contracted players will undergo specialised training and diet monitored by the highly qualified specialists similar to what NRL players go through with their clubs For the weekly competition; if away matches the team will fly out of Fiji on Friday, play on Saturday or Sunday and return the next day If they are playing at home, the visitors will fly in on Friday, play on Saturday and return on Sunday. The overseas teams will fly in with their supporters as well, which is a boost to the local economy. Only 20 of the contracted players will play in a week. The rest of the players will return to their respective clubs and play in the Vodafone Cup competition. The high intensity training they undergo in camp will help lift the standard of the local competition.
