Newly appointed Suva football captain Samuela Drudru is aware of the tough challenge that is before them. Speaking to SUNsports from Nausori International Airport yesterday, the star striker said their sole aim at the OFC Champions League is to play and win. “It will not be an easy task but we will try our best,” he said. “To be the captain is a big step for me and a lot of pressure as well as we are playing against top clubs from around the Pacific.

“The people of Fiji are expecting us to win and the players know just how important this tournament is.” Drudru stood in for veteran midfielder and captain Pita Rabo who was dropped after he was not issued a visa by the New Zealand immigration. Pooled with the likes of Team Wellington, Hekari United and AS Lossi (New Caledonia), Drudru says, it is the pool of death. “We will do our best and hopefully things work out in our favour,” he added.
