The Fiji Police Force are advising parents to take heed of the weather warnings. This comes after Police witnessed children playing in flooded drains, roads and puddles unsupervised in Labasa yesterday. Northern Divisional Police Commander Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Bhawan Singh said parents should watch over their children’s movement.

“Parents should see that their children are not playing in flooded drains, roads and puddles,” SSP Singh said. “Never underestimate the power of the water current.

“Parents should talk to their children nicely and encourage them to engage in educational activities inside the house. “Our Police officers are on the ground because we continue to monitor the weather situation. “Yesterday I went around Macuata Province with my officers to inspect the water level situation and see how we could help our people.” Edited by Rusiate Mataika
