MINISTER FOR EDUCATION MAHENDRA REDDY: THEY WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Schools in Northern and Western division will be closed till tomorrow as Tropical Disturbance 15F approaches Fiji while TD 14F will likely convert into a Tropical Cyclone. Minister of Education Dr Mahendra Reddy said; “The schools are closed till further notice and parents are advised to keep an eye on their children especially in the flooded areas.” Dr Reddy said the students who at- tended schools yesterday were sent home by the Head Teachers of the schools.
All schools in Navua, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki are closed due to flooding as well flooding along Koronivia Road has forced all schools in Koronivia to be closed. Mr Reddy said some schools would be used an evacuation centres in cases of emergencies.
