Shah Rukh Khan, the King Khan of Bollywood lavished high praise on his former co-stars Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan for breaking new grounds in Hollywood. When asked for his views on the recent trend of actresses like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra going West and if it will help Indian actors break new grounds in Hollywood, SRK told IndianExpress.

com, “It’s amazing what Deepika, Priyanka, Irrfan (Khan), Anupam, Anil, Ompuriji have achieved.

“It’s extremely gutsy. I have seen some of their work. Be it Irrfan, Peecee (Priyanka) or Deepika who showed me some of her pics recently. I think it is fantastic.

“They are all extremely talented. They know their job. All the names that I have mentioned are all nearly National Award winners. Be it Irrfan or Peecee or Deepika, they are all fantastic actors who know their craft. They are the finest actors we have in our country.” SRK also sees the strong roles played by Martin Indian actors in the West, instrumental in breaking Indian stereotypes enforced by many foreign films. “It opens doors for actors to believe in the themselves more. It actually makes West look at India in a way that is like saying, ‘Look at the talent in India’. The fact is that the world can look at you in a different light because it is not just a typical Indian character that we are playing anymore. “There are no more ‘Pray tell me sir’ kind of lines. It’s about just being an actor may be with an accent. I see Chinese actors in English films. No one questions their accent or the way they are. So I think it is a really nice thing and on the other side this way it will really help these actors to take their own films to an international audience because they are internationally known now.”
