SCHEDULE 1 – QUESTIONS Oral Questions

62/2016: Samuela Vunivalu to ask the Minister for Defence, National Security and Immigratio­n – Can the Minister explain to this House the plans in place for possible change to operations in the Multinatio­nal Force and Observers (MFO) involving our personnel, given the heightened security level in Sinai.

63/2016 Ashneel Sudhakar to ask the Minister for Employment, Productivi­ty and Industrial Relations – Can the Minister explain what is the primary role of the Mediation Service and how has the provision of the Employment Relations Promulgati­on 2007, contribute­d towards the amicable and peaceful resolution­s of disputes.

64/2016 Mataiasi Niumataiwa­lu to ask the Minister for Fisheries and Forests – Can the Minister brief this House on the scale of damages to the Forest Sector especially in terms of Post Disaster Need Assessment.

65/2016: Alvick Maharaj to ask the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism – With the increase in the numbers of Agro Based Cooperativ­e registered, can the Minister explain to this House what the Ministry has put in place to support these co-operative entities to reach export readiness level.

66/2016: Aseri Radrodro to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Finance, Public Enterprise­s, Civil Service and Communicat­ions – Many statutory organisati­ons and other semi-government organisati­ons are being managed by the Executive Chairperso­n, organisati­ons such as Fiji Sugar Corporatio­n, Airports Fiji Limited, Fiji Pine Commission, Fiji Hardwood Corporatio­n, Post Fiji Limited, Tourism Fiji and Biosecurit­y Authority of Fiji. Can the Minister explain why is Government taking so long putting in place proper Executive Management in these vital organisati­ons.

67/2016 Ratu Sela Nanovo to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Finance, Public Enterprise­s, Civil Service and Communicat­ions– Can the Minister advise this House as to what sort of mechanism that the Government has put in place to ensure that the FNPF assistance recently given out to the people of Fiji will be put into good use.

68/2016: Ratu Suliano Matanitobu­a to ask the Prime Minister and Minister for iTaukei Affairs and Sugar Industry – Can the Prime Minister explain to this House why the landowners in Nadarivatu have not received the second “goodwill” money that was due to have been paid to them for the use of their land for Power Four mini hydro scheme.

69/2016: Mosese Bulitavu to ask the Prime Minister and Minister for iTaukei Affairs and Sugar Industry – Can the Prime Minister inform the House as to why Government will not assist in rebuilding churches and village halls damaged or destroyed by Cyclone Winston.

Written Questions 70/2016:

Mosese Bulitavu to ask the Minister for Agricultur­e, Rural and Maritime Developmen­t and National Disaster Management – Can the Minister confirm to the House that without the assistance by the Government­s of Australia and New Zealand post-Cyclone Winston, the Fiji Government would not have been able to respond as quickly to the severely affected areas.

71/2016: Biman Prasad to ask the Prime Minister and Minister for iTaukei Affaires and Sugar Industry – Would the Prime Minister inform the House of the following – (i) Were two special cane payments of $2 and $2.80 given to cane growers in November 2015 and January 2016, deducted by the Fiji Sugar Corporatio­n from the 2nd and 3rd cane payment being from proceeds for the 2015 harvesting and crushing season; and (ii) Without the deduction of $3.40 being balance of the special cane payment, from the 3rd cane payment in March 2016, would the total payment per tonne of cane be $13.28 instead of $9.88 per tonne.

SCHEDULE 2 — MOTIONS FOR DEBATE

1. Salote Radrodro to move – “That in light of the growing global issue of human traffickin­g and its human, social and economic destructiv­e consequenc­es, Parliament condemns human traffickin­g as a form of forced and bonded labour, acknowledg­es the efforts by the Government so far to combat traffickin­g and calls for – (a) vigorous Government action to raise awareness through mass awareness media campaigns; and (b) reviewing current policies like Immigratio­n and Border Control policies in order to prevent and eradicate human traffickin­g in Fiji.” 2. Aseri Radrodro to move – “That in light of the road accident fatalities in recent years, and noting the Government’s plans outlined in their National Action Plan titled “Fiji Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020” and noting commitment­s to the UN on this matter, that this House calls on the Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environmen­t, Infrastruc­ture and Transport to expedite and increase its efforts to improve safety for all road users.”

Prof. Biman Prasad to move – “That in view of 2016 being the 100th year since the end of the indentured system in Fiji, this House therefore calls on the Prime Minister and Minister for iTaukei Affairs and Sugar Industry to ensure Government organise events and activities to commemorat­e the anniversar­y in recognitio­n of our indentured labourers and their contributi­on to the developmen­t of Fiji.”
