Time Out For Our Reps In Wananavu

Five mem­bers of the Voda­fone Fi­jian 7s squad took time out dur­ing the week­end at the Wananavu Beach Re­sort in Raki­raki.

Af­ter tough train­ing ses­sions at the Up­ris­ing Beach Re­sort, team cap­tain Osea Kolin­isau, Jasa Vere­malua, Ma­sivesi Dakuwaqa, Ne­mani Na­gusa and Emosi Mulevoro re­laxed with their fam­i­lies at the re­sort be­fore fly­ing out to­mor­row for the World Sev­ens Se­ries in Paris and London.

Re­sort div­ing staff Simeli Rokoseu said the play­ers checked in on Sat­ur­day and de­parted for Suva on Sun­day. “I took them out div­ing and they en­joyed them­selves,” Rokoseu said. “Wananavu is a per­fect place for our heroes to re­lax be­fore they de­fend the World Sev­ens Se­ries in Paris-London next week­end. I’m sure they will make Fiji proud again.” Mean­while, the team at­tended the open­ing cer­e­mony of the Handy Fi­nance Vol­ley­ball Cham­pi­onship at the Voda­fone Arena yes­ter­day. Part of the gate­tak­ings from the open­ing day will go to­wards the Voda­fone Fi­jians 7s team prepara- tion for the Rio Olympics in Au­gust. “What the vol­ley­ball fam­ily has done ba­si­cally sur­prised us,” team man­ager Ropate Kau­vesi said.

“Fi­nan­cial con­straints is felt by ev­ery­one and for Ocea­nia Vol­ley­ball to think of us and will­ing to help us out, we are very thank­ful and gra­cious in what they are try­ing to achieve.

“It will be a huge boost for the boys know­ing that they have other sports fed­er­a­tions back­ing them up as we pre­pare for Rio.” The Voda­fone Fi­jian 7s team are in Pool B with Samoa, Scot­land and Wales in Paris. Edited by Paula Tu­vuki
