Tui Nadi blesses Fijian Tourism Expo 2016

There is a need to carry on the momentum in exposing Fiji as a holiday destinatio­n to the internatio­nal community. These were the comments made by Tui Nadi Ratu Sailosi Dawai to the delegation led by Minister for Industry Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Siddiq Koya at Narewa village in Nadi yesterday. Mr Koya presented the sevusevu ahead of the Fijian Tourism Expo’s (FTE) opening ceremony at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa today. The Nadi chief has once again welcomed the idea to stage such events that will not only boost tourism in Nadi area but Fiji as whole.

“There are lot of tourism sectors in the country which have been growing in number and they are all looking forward to this event,” he said. The Tui Nadi added since the expo from last year there have been positive outcomes. “There is good news around with Fiji Airways recording a profit for 2015 and this is all derived from this kind of events,” he added. “Now we are having flights to Singapore and soon to San Francisco in USA. In the bigger picture this will bring huge returns for us and for our economy.’’ “We have no choice but to support it in any ways we could.’’ The Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism was also accompanie­d by the Tourism Fiji Executive Chairman Truman Bradley and Pacific Destinatio­ns senior executives. Mr Koya and Mr Bradley thanked the Tui Nadi for his on-going support in the tourism sector. “We thank the Tui Nadi for his blessing as this event and it will be surely a great campaign to promote Fiji tourism stakeholde­rs,” Mr Koya said. The Fijian Tourism Expo today will commence at 9am at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa. It will be officiated by Pacific Destinatio­ns. The three day event at the Denarau Conven- tion Centre at the Sheraton Fiji Resort ends on Thursday.
