An Australian NotFor-Profit Charity -’Aussie Tradies Rescue’ wants to help people of Tavua Village who were affected by Cyclone Winston. According to Robert Atherton, this group is made up of Australian trades personnel. “They want to rebuild Tavua Village which was affected by the cyclone,” he said. The team is expected to arrive here next month and according to Mr Atherton the group will bring with them housing materials from Australia.

“Due to this being a Notfor-Profit charity and the many high costs of getting such a project off the ground, we are approaching the Fijian Government and seeking assistance in way of grants and/or Tax & VAT exemptions, especially on materials we are having shipped over to complete these much needed work,” he said. He said the group of trades personnel wanted to help and picked Tavua Village to work on after reading about the extent of the damage caused by Winston. Edited by Naisa Koroi
