Up­grad­ing and re­set­tle­ment project for squat­ter set­tle­ment such as Na­mara and Nakama in Savusavu: Mr Vo­cea said this project was a boost for those that were liv­ing within the two squat­ter set­tle­ments given that through this project they would be able to se­cure lease which would open up more op­por­tu­ni­ties for them.

$200,000 bud­get for pre­lim­i­nary works for new Seaqaqa Air­port: Mr Vo­cea said this would be a great boost to the di­vi­sion es­pe­cially for the ho­tel op­er­a­tors and the var­i­ous busi­ness arms. “Through this project we would be able to fly in big­ger planes that can carry more cargo, pas­sen­gers or tourist which will some­how boost the econ­omy and cre­ate other op­por­tu­ni­ties,” Mr Vo­cea said.

Ur­gent Re­pair of bridges Labasa Bridge, Vesidrua Bridge, Naiyalay­ala Bridge, Nakasava Bridge: Mr Vo­cea said the re­pair­ing of th­ese bridges was essen­tial to the di­vi­sion. “I per­son­ally thank gov­ern­ment for al­lo­cat­ing funds for the re­pair­ing of th­ese bridges given its cur­rent con­di­tion,” Mr Vo­cea said.

Pub­lic Sec­tor In­vest­ment (PSI) Pro­grammes: “Gov­ern­ment has al­lo­cated a sum of $2,389,580 for cap­i­tal con­struc­tion for pub­lic

build­ings in ru­ral and mar­itime ar­eas,” Mr Vo­cea said. “Th­ese in­clude Kubu­lau Gov­ern­ment Sta­tion, Seaqaqa Health Cen­tre, Naduri Health Cen­tre, Nabouwalu Hospi­tal and Tawake Nurs­ing Sta­tion.
