Upgrading and resettlement project for squatter settlement such as Namara and Nakama in Savusavu: Mr Vocea said this project was a boost for those that were living within the two squatter settlements given that through this project they would be able to secure lease which would open up more opportunities for them.

$200,000 budget for preliminary works for new Seaqaqa Airport: Mr Vocea said this would be a great boost to the division especially for the hotel operators and the various business arms. “Through this project we would be able to fly in bigger planes that can carry more cargo, passengers or tourist which will somehow boost the economy and create other opportunities,” Mr Vocea said.

Urgent Repair of bridges Labasa Bridge, Vesidrua Bridge, Naiyalayala Bridge, Nakasava Bridge: Mr Vocea said the repairing of these bridges was essential to the division. “I personally thank government for allocating funds for the repairing of these bridges given its current condition,” Mr Vocea said.

Public Sector Investment (PSI) Programmes: “Government has allocated a sum of $2,389,580 for capital construction for public

buildings in rural and maritime areas,” Mr Vocea said. “These include Kubulau Government Station, Seaqaqa Health Centre, Naduri Health Centre, Nabouwalu Hospital and Tawake Nursing Station.
