QVSOB continue dream run

Queen Victoria School Old Boys (QVSOB) continued with their impressive run in the RC Manubhai sponsored Suva Rugby Union Escott Shield Premier Grade competitio­n. In an exciting round 10 game at Buckhurst Park in Suva yesterday, QVSOB trounced Suva Stallion 227. They scored three tries to one to outclass the Stallions. In other matches, National Fire Authority (NFA) had a hard fought 23-21 win over Harlequins, Police beat Covenant 20-14, USP defeated Nabua 13-10, defending champions Navy thrashed Lomaiviti 40-16, Marist won against Raiwaqa 2915 while Army in the last match survived a Savura resurgence to win 17-10 at the end. Army led 17-3 at halftime before Savura made a comeback scoring a try that saw them within striking distance. Army defensivel­y played well to stop Savura from scoring further. Meanwhile, all SRU clubs have been reminded that the club registrati­on closed yesterday as per the competitio­n rules. The club games continue this week.
