GROUP TOLD TO PAY $3K TO NATIONAL TISI SANGAM COMMITTEE MEMBERS

A faction of the Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam that filed in a civil action against members of current TISI committee in court has been ordered by the High Court in Lautoka to pay costs to the current committee. This follows several disagreeme­nts within the TISI Sangam where a second committee had been formed during its AGM in May. In a ruling dated August 26, High Court Judge Justice Mohamed Ajmeer ordered Parveen Kumar, Rajna Kumaran, Avinesh Reddy, Parmesh Lingam, and Sadasivan Naicker to jointly or severally pay $3500 to Damendra Amas Gounder (TISI Sangam secretary general), Gyaneshwar Rao (TISI Sangam secretary administra­tion), Rama (TISI northern national president), Vijay Narayan (TISI Sangam national president south western), Walliamma Swamy (national president of the Then India Maathar Sangam) and 12th Responent Shailend Ram Krishna (TISI Sangam legal advisor). Justice Ajmeer also ordered for the applicants to jointly or severally pay $3000 to Sadasivan Naicker (TISI Sangam national president), Som Padiyachi (TISI Sangam national treasurer), Gyan Warda Raju (TISI Sangam general manager), Tarunesh Reddy (TISI Sangam past national president) and Kumar Saji Gounder (TISI Sangam general secretary operation). The applicants were also ordered to jointly or severally pay Vasu Pillay a sum of $1500.
